And of course she welcomes vegetarians in her entire course, and she will show you how to substitute vegetables or tofu for meat or fish in any dishes.

Suwannee Thai Cooking Class we want you to get the most out of your stay in Chiang Rai. Our goal for you is not only to learn how to cook a variety of Thai foods, but also to have fun while you are learning. Suwannee emphasizes a friendly teaching style centered on actually doing, rather than watching. She guarantees that by the time you complete our course you will not only have learned a thing or two about Thai cooking but will also have had a most memorable experience.

Chef Suwannee is patient, funny, and a wonderful chef and teacher. She patiently guided us through each process of food preparation for a variety of Thai dishes, such as Pad Thai and Tom Yum Kung. Her kitchen is very comfortable and provides tourists, both Thai and foreigners, with a wonderful glimpse of a Thai home, along with genuine cooking experiences — of course, the dining experience is delicious, memorable and created by YOU — when you visit Chiang Rai, be sure to set aside about half a day, or 8:00 am to approximately 3:00 pm, for Suwannee’s Cooking School and Classes in Chiang Rai. Spent together with my 9 year old daughter a very nice morning – and the better part of the afternoon together with Suwannee. First preparation of the shopping list at the local market, then shopping at the same market and finally back to Suwannee to prepare 4 very nice courses. Some of which were specially altered (less spice) to accomodate…

We spent a wonderful morning with Suwannee. Day started with a guided tour of the market where on top of buying our groceries we also sampled a lot of local food. This was followed by a very instructive cooking class and excellent tasting! Very much enjoyed all of it!
